If he had managed to calm down before, he may as well kiss that peacefulness goodbye. The three words coming from Kaito’s lips jump started his heart again, and he felt his chest swell with – pride? Love? Excitement? He couldn’t pinpoint, perhaps because there were too many emotions to convey. Proud that he had caught his thief in this respect, excited to be so in love with him, the possibilities were endless.

“I love you too.” He returned with a small laugh in respect to the brunet’s huffy attitude; knowing that was just his way of dealing with embarrassment. Didn’t make it any less cute, mind you. “And you’re terrible.” Terribly adorable.

There was another distressed hum at Saguru’s words, a high-pitched whine akin to a tea kettle, and Kaito wouldn’t have been surprised if there was steam coming from his ears (although he really hoped not, that was probably unhealthy).

“I am terrible,” he muttered. “So terrible that I’m never letting you go, okay?” If he hadn’t already been so flustered, he would have made a joke about having stolen Saguru’s heart - the only gem he wasn’t so willing to give back any time soon. As it was, though, he just tightened his grip ever so slightly, hands curling into the back of Saguru’s shirt.
