“Mmm.” He agreed in a murmur, thinking he could never get enough of Kaito snuggling into him like an oversized rabbit, huddling for warmth, and Saguru had so much to give, if the heat on his cheeks provided anything at all. “Do you remember when I first confessed to you–?”

And he said first, because he was rather sure he had had to do it again a month or so ago; amnesia and all.

“If I recall, you sent me a note, saying you would steal my heart and I told you that you got an F for lack of tact.” It all seemed like yesterday, to be honest, and yet it had been six months. To think time passed so fast, even when he so often kept track of it. “Well… I’ve decided now,” Saguru continued, leaning back to look Kaito in the eyes. “That it will be the one thing I never expect you to return.”

And maybe the smile on his face shouldn’t have been as sappy and heartfelt as it was, but it was. He’d get embarrassed about it later, probably; for now, though, Saguru’s words were just making him feel so much-

“Good, because I wasn’t planning on it, tantei-san. It’s far too precious to ever give up.”
