“That isn’t very characteristic of my profession.” He responded with a light laugh, his shoulders eventually relaxing - though he would have seriously liked to know when they had even gotten tense. “Maybe I could leave them a warrant for your arrest.” Saguru mused instead, dropping sideways to lean against his boyfriend with an almost possessive weight.
“Granted, that implies there would be something of a bail, and I very much doubt I would be willing to take anything in exchange for you.”
Thank god, though. Saguru wasn’t sure what part of him had made him so anxious to ask in the first place, but he felt relieved to know Kaito was being just as casual as he was.
Kaito snorted slightly, leaning back. “All things considered, my bail’s probably so high that you’d be the only one rich enough to pay it off.”
“So if you think about it, between arresting me and paying my bail, you’d be owning me, either way.” There was the obvious tease in his voice, even as he relaxed next to him. “Joking aside, though, please don’t arrest me. I’d have to pick your cuffs, and that would only make you mad.”
