“How can imbeciles like yourself sit back and let the gods tread on us like welcome mats. They pulled us from our homes and lives, and you sit back and enjoy this beautiful day without any scorn for our beloved all-powerful behemoths.” He looked to Kaito, and showed no emotion, he simply let the words spill out, for this person to drink up. “If you want to dawn your colorful trousers and splash around, be my guest. However, I own nothing to these gods, and will find a way off this island, unlike all of you–fools so content in their prison.” He shoots Kaito a big toothy grin, showing off his fangs.
He was impressed, but was the last person willing to admit so. The other’s grey skin and sharp teeth reminded him of a shark - which, in another life, might have reminded him of a detective - but he refused to back down, and instead snorted lightly. “You think we haven’t tried?” Really, he acted like they were the idiots for accepting this fate. “You know how quicksand works, right? Struggling just makes it worse? That’s how it is here.” He shrugged. “Maybe you’re new to the whole futility thing, but you’ll get used to it.”
